This page is maintained by Wise Deals to explain how we handle personal data when you use WiseDeals.uk (the "Site"). We are the data controller for the information described below. This policy is written for compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. What we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password hash.
  • Order data: items purchased, price, shipping address, order status.
  • Payment data: handled directly by our payment processor. We store only a reference to the transaction, never full card numbers.
  • Support data: correspondence you send us.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and standard server logs used to run and secure the Site.

2. How we use it

  • To create and manage your account (lawful basis: contract).
  • To process and deliver your orders and handle returns (lawful basis: contract).
  • To provide customer support (lawful basis: legitimate interests).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records (lawful basis: legal obligation).
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse (lawful basis: legitimate interests).
  • To send marketing emails only if you opt in (lawful basis: consent).

3. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with providers who help us run the Site:

  • Payment processing (our checkout provider).
  • Cloud hosting and database (our backend infrastructure providers).
  • Delivery couriers, to fulfil your order.
  • Regulators or law enforcement, when legally required.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. International transfers

5. How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account is active, plus a short period afterwards.
  • Order and tax records: 6 years, as required by UK tax law.
  • Support correspondence: up to 3 years.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to maintain your cart. Any analytics or marketing cookies, if introduced, will be loaded only after you consent via our cookie banner.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level access controls and least-privilege access to reduce the risk of unauthorised access. No system is 100% secure; if a personal-data breach occurs we will notify the ICO and affected users where legally required.
